Eligibility Criteria for Dalhousie University Scholarships 2025

To be eligible for Dalhousie University scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Required Language: English.
Eligible Countries: All world countries

For Master’s competition applications:

Please examine the CGS-M Evaluation Criteria, which are used to rank applications. These criteria are written clearly and plainly, avoiding jargon. You may also want to refer to the “Outline of proposed research (attachment)” section of the CGS-M instructions for guidance on crafting a robust research proposal.

For Doctoral competition applications:

  • Please familiarize yourself with the selection criteria for the Harmonized CGS-Doctoral programs.
  • You may also wish to review the Research Proposal instructions provided for the Vanier doctoral competition or the Tri-Agency Doctoral competition for guidance on developing a strong research proposal.

Here are the steps to apply for Dalhousie University Scholarships 2025:

  1. Log into the FGS Scholarship Management Platform. If you have a Dalhousie NetID, select “Use Dalhousie NetID” to log in. Otherwise, enter an email address and create a password. You only need to create one account, even if applying for multiple opportunities.
  2. Create a new scholarship application or edit an existing one from the “My applications” list on your homepage. Only one application per competition is accepted, so do not submit multiple Harmonized Scholarship applications.
  3. For Master’s applicants who applied for the Tri-Agency CGS-M competition, you can opt-in to use your CGS-M application within the Harmonized Scholarship Process. Choose “Master’s Level – CGS-M Opt-In” as the submission category and proceed. The Faculty of Graduate Studies will link your CGS-M application, including reference letters and transcripts. Opt-in deadline is December 1st, aligned with the CGS-M deadline. If not opting in, complete a full Harmonized Scholarship Application for other awards.
  4. Complete the self-identification questionnaire in the Online Scholarship Platform. This ensures eligibility criteria are met for specific award opportunities. Information provided remains confidential to reviewers.
  5. Navigate through the application by clicking “Next” at the bottom of each page. Use “Save” to close and return later for edits.
  6. Upload official transcripts directly in the scholarship portal as instructed. Combine transcripts from multiple institutions into a single PDF. Current Dalhousie students may use unofficial grade reports.
  7. Ensure all reference letters are submitted through the portal by the January 16, 2024 deadline (February 15 for non-thesis applicants). The portal closes for applicants and referees after this date. No email or hard copy submissions accepted. Advise referees of the deadline to avoid issues.
  8. Agree to terms and conditions, then click “Save and Finalize” to submit the application.

Note: Applications can be withdrawn and resubmitted for changes until January 15, including updates with fall grades or edits based on departmental feedback.
