Postgraduate Scholarships in Switzerland for International students:

Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Scholars and Artists

Swiss Government Scholarship is a program to support young researchers and foreign artists who have completed their third degree or doctorate from abroad. Research Scholarships (PhD, Postdoctoral) are open to postdoctoral researchers (with a master’s degree as a minimum requirement) who wish to go to Switzerland to conduct research or continue their studies at doctoral or postdoctoral level. The research grants are awarded to research or training programs at all Swiss universities, two universities and two technical institutes, as well as four research institutes.

Art Scholarships are awarded to art students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in art in Switzerland. Art scholarships are awarded to study at a Swiss university or art school. This scholarship is only available to students from participating country.

This scholarship covers a monthly stipend of CHF 1,920, tuition fees, health insurance, round-trip airfare, and living expenses.

IMD MBA Scholarships

IMD MBA Scholarship is a scholarship that is available for international students. This scholarship is awarded to leaders in business management. The IMD scholarship offers international students an award of CHF 85,000. This scholarship is for encouraging students from all over the world who do not have the funds to apply but have the ability, desire and motivation to pursue an MBA program.

ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme

The Excellence Scholarships and Opportunities Program (ESOP) is made to support students with scholarships, mentors and the ETH Foundation network. This grant covers all tuition fees and living expenses for the second master’s degree semester. The application window is open from November 1 to November 30, 2024.

The Excellence Scholarship/ESOP consists of a grant covering living and study costs ( which is CHF 12,000 per semester) and a tuition fee waiver. These ESOPs are awarded for the normal duration of the master’s program (three or four semesters). An application for tuition fees is also required. ESOP applications are made from eApply (online application). This also applies to ETH Bachelor students in the follow-up program.

University of Lausanne (UNIL) Master’s Grants

This University of Lausanne (UNIL) Master’s Grant is awarded according to the duration of the program chosen by the students. It is CHF 1,600 per month from September 15 to July 15 (or 10 months per year) for the entire third degree (one and a half years or two years, depending on the chosen degree), except in the following cases: Graduation upon completion of the first year. Scholarship winners are exempt from the prescribed registration fees, except for the fee of CHF 80.00 to be paid per installment.

AAPG Foundation Grants-in-Aid

AAPG Foundation Grant-in-Aid is a grant from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

AAPG Fellowship gives financial support to graduate students ( who are currently accepted into a master’s or doctoral program) whose research focuses on the exploration and development of petroleum and energy resources and/or environmental issues.

EPFL Master Excellence Fellowships

This fellowship, worth CHF 10,000 per semester, is open to undergraduate students at EPFL and students starting their university studies at another institution. To be eligible for the fellowship, interested students must check the appropriate box on the homepage and submit their application.

While academic training is an important factor in the evaluation of proposals, EPFL enables candidates to gain experience in different areas such as research (books, awards or grants), entrepreneurship (patent application, start-up) or social involvement. VSBfonds Grant

The VSB Fund is made to provide annual support to secondary school students who wish to study abroad after their studies. This grant cannot be used for internships or research projects. Student has to choose an institution to study abroad and prepare for admission.

The educational institution you will be studying at must be recognized by the government of that country. If this is not the case, you will need to prove that the quality of the institution and your chosen course meets the requirements for German higher education.
