Great Britain is home to some of the most prestigious universities in the world, offering quality education and opportunities, and studying in the United Kingdom (UK) has become a dream for many international students. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well known as Great Britain (United Kingdom or United Kingdom) or simply Great Britain, is the governing country of the United Kingdom. It is located in northwestern Europe, on the northwestern coast of continental Europe.
With its eastern border on the North Sea, the coast of England and its southern and southwestern coasts on the Celtic Sea, Great Britain has the 12th longest coastline in the world, next to the Atlantic Ocean.

UK Scholarships for Nigerian Students:

Kingston University Undergraduate Scholarships

Kingston University has expanded its scholarship program to include students from around the world, including students from Nigerians.

The University’s Department of International Development is offering a scholarship worth £5,000 to international students enrolled on a full-time programme.

Rhodes Scholarship

The Rhodes Scholarship offers Nigerian students the opportunity to join a community of outstanding young people from around the world and continue their studies at the University of Oxford. The scholarship program not only facilitates academic development, but also provides academic and permanent connections.

Chevening Scholarships

The Chevening Scholarship is a full scholarship for international students, including Nigerians. The Chevening Scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, a return economy class flight to the UK and additional support and stipends to cover essential expenses. Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards program designed to develop global leaders. About 1,500 scholarships are awarded worldwide.

Chevening is supported by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations and offers two types of awards: Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships, the recipients of which are selected by British embassies and commissions around the world. All Chevening applicants must have qualifications, references and, without limitation, be a British university.

The University of Bristol Think Big Scholarship

The University of Bristol is renowned for its innovative research and development. The institution offers a number of scholarships to qualified applicants. Among these, the Think Big program stands out as one of the most popular scholarships offered to high school graduates worldwide.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

The Cambridge Gates Scholarship is a scholarship for international students. It is made  available for postgraduate and doctoral studies. The grant provides 2,000 students and 15,612 families with £18,744 per year, health insurance and development support.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship program was established in October, the Gates Cambridge offers approx 80 full scholarships for applicants from outside the UK to study towards a postgraduate degree in any course at the University of Cambridge. About two-thirds of these scholarships are available to doctoral students, with about 25 in the US category and 55 in the international category.

Commonwealth Scholarships

The Commonwealth Scholarship is a Masters-funded PhD programme. D. for international students. The Commonwealth Scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend of £1,347 per month, return economy class flights to and from the UK, and additional support and living costs.

The award is the UK’s flagship program aimed at contributing to the UK’s development goals. It is designed to attract international students to British universities and also to support sustainable development abroad.

As part of Great Britain’s commitment to the Commonwealth, around 700 students each year are offered the opportunity to study for a postgraduate degree at UK universities and colleges.

In order to apply for a Commonwealth scholarship, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of a Commonwealth country. You are still eligible if you are a refugee or a protected person from the UK.
You must have a bachelor’s degree with at least a high school diploma (2:1). If you want to do a doctorate, you will also need a master’s degree.

Westminster Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships

The University of Westminster Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is awarded to international students of black, Asian or minority ethnic origin from developing countries. Nigerian students are therefore eligible to receive this scholarship. The scholarship offers selected students the opportunity to pursue a full-time university program of their choice. The scholarship covers £15,000 in total, with successful applicants receiving £5,000 per year for three years.

The University of West London International Ambassador Scholarship

The University of West London has a rich heritage of over 150 years of providing professional education and training. The International Ambassador Scholarship is offered by the University to identify and financially support students who can become UWL Ambassadors. As a scholarship recipient, you will represent the University in a variety of roles and play an active role in current and future marketing efforts. As part of your ambassador role, you will be interviewed and photographed
from the marketing department. It is also expected to support university activities by contributing to events organized by scientists and international organizations. The scholarship program offers up to £5,000 for the first-year students and up to £2,000 for postgraduate students to cover tuition fees. There are 100 scholarships in total.

The GREAT Scholarship

The Great Scholarship is a full scholarship for Nigerian students. These scholarships are available for postgraduate students. The scholarship covers tuition fees of $10,000 for a one-year course. This scholarship is funded by the UK Government’s GREAT UK campaign, the British Council and participating UK universities. Each scholarship is worth at least £10,000 towards the tuition fees of a one-year course.
